Snatched

‘Many people would probably despise what I do for a living. I don’t care. No job is morally neutral. Priests absolve people of disgusting things; nurses take part in abortions; firefighters call in sick. Think about what you do each day and ask yourself, do you really make a living in such a pure way?’

Welcome to Snatched. Welcome to the world of Kieran. Officially, Kieran runs a high end ticket agency. Unofficially, his job is to steal children to order so that wealthy oligarchs can complete their family and have the son or daughter they have never been able to have. Unknown to him, Chiswick-born Thomas is set to become the latest victim as he holidays with his family on the Algarve.

Written from the perspective of a character who sees it only as his job, David provides a thought-provoking insight into a world morally incomprehensible to most people. Comparable to works by Iain Banks, Snatched explores what happens when one snatch goes wrong. This book is an exciting and fast-paced novel that will appeal to fans of thrillers

This was absolutely gripping. The first person narrative from the main characters helped make them real and the similarity to some actual events gave it an additional authenticity. Very well worth reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Page turner, well written, beginning to end.

This book was a page-turner. Couldn't put it down and passed to two friends who complained they got no sleep reading right through to the finish, both said it was a great read. It was dark, anxiety-provoking felt very real, utterly terrifying. I'm easily bored and if a book doesn't keep me gripped it gets put down. looking forward to his next

This is the first book I have read by David Sindall and for the first time in ages, I just couldn't put it down. It is dark in places, it doesn't stereo type the villains, so you see the criminals as fairly normal people but it really opens your eyes to the sordid and frightening world of child abduction and international trafficking. There are plenty of twists and turns in the plot and right to the very end, there is intrigue and interest. Well done on a really unusual book, very well written

What David Says

I wrote ‘Snatched’ when I was working in the rail sector. There were some days where my job put me in conflict with my own values. I began to wonder what it would be like if you did a job which was morally repugnant but which you just happened to think was a ‘job’. The book is the result. The story is explored from the perspective of the perpetrators.  I also wanted to deliver something where the female characters are strong, which I think I achieved.

Miscellaneous Fact: I have stayed in all the hotels mentioned in the book.
